At this particular time, masks, as one of the most effective means of isolating infections between people, are inextricably linked to everyone, not only in terms of their function as protection but also as a way of soothing the fear of infectious diseases. The masks were witnesses to this human catastrophe. For modern people, the days of wearing masks have profoundly influenced the way of life. This documentary focuses on ordinary people’s life in COVID-19 to present the helplessness and anxiety or positivity and optimism of people from different areas. With the symbol of the mask, this documentary explores the different attitudes of people in facing difficulties, overcoming isolation and seeking vitality in helping themselves and others. 

Filmed at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, the film follows several characters in their fight against the pandemic. In Europe an Italian doctor working in an intensive care unit of a hospital fights for each single one of her patients. At the same time a German doctor in charge of maternity clinic Munich has to balance the new mothers’ safety while they need their husbands and family emotional support. In China a mother and a daughter running a mask factory near Wuhan try everything they can to fill up the world demand. And in the USA two ambulance crew have to save covid-19 patient while making sure they are protecting themselves and their family.
